ABOUT

Ross Verik is a Scottish music producer and artist based in Tokyo, Japan. He debuted onto the UK dark electronic scene in 2010 as one half of the duo Surgyn, who would go on to release two full-length albums "Vanity" (2011) and "Envy" (2014) on Digital World Audio (Japan) and Vendetta Music (US).

As a live performer, Verik would cut his teeth through countless performances as Surgyn in the UK and Europe, including tours with heavyweights such as Combichrist. This 4-year run culminated in a US tour in 2014 opening for industrial pop sensation Aesthetic Perfection and included a performance at Aftermath Festival in Toronto, Canada.

As a remixer, he has produced remixes for multiple artists, most notably his remix of "Klámstrákur" by Eurovision finalists Hatari. The remix was subsequently released on the duo's "Neyslutrans RemiXed" album in 2021.

Since relocating to Tokyo in 2016, he has continued to regularly perform live with various projects, and after a pivotal debut full-length solo set at electronic music event Electroman in Tokyo in 2023, Verik committed to pursuing the solo music direction he'd been conjuring up for years, leading to the release of his first solo single "The Demon Below" under his own name in February 2024.

Stripping away the armour in pursuit of something more raw and human, he followed up with his latest offering "Burn" In December 2024.

Graduating with a BA Honours of Fine Art from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, Verik’s graduate multi-sensory exhibition “HOSPITAL” (2013) merged sculpture, installation, sound and video, landing him an opportunity to exhibit at Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh in 2014.

After many years of inactivity in the fine arts, Verik is now exploring new ways to merge different areas of his creative work, such as drawing, with a focus on experimentation and collaboration with other artists.

In August of 2025 he launched a new three-part event series TRI-SHNA with good friend and fellow local Tokyo music producer Demsky, which featured a brand new collaborative performance with butoh dancer Kana Kitty.
